1] A ship is at anchor. Over the side hangs a rope ladder with rungs a foot apart. The tide rises at a rate of 8 inches per hour. At the end of six hours, how much of the rope will remain above water, assuming that 8 feet was above the water, when the tide began to rise?    Pick the tomato, get the answer!

1] The ship is afloat and so the water level in relation to the ship, stays the same. Therefore, 8 feet is above water, just as at the beginning.
