The Town of Georgina on the shore's of Lake Simcoe, is a locality comprised of approx. 41,000 residents and located within a 45 minute drive due north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can access Georgina via Hwy. # 404 and Woodbine Avenue or travel north from Toronto on Highway 48. The Town's small urban communities which include, Keswick, Jackson's Point, Sutton, Pefferlaw, Port Bolster and Udora, each offer a lifestyle of carefree, lakeside living. No area is more than a few short blocks from the water and just about anything having to do with the lake, summer or winter, can be found & enjoyed here. The fishing is incredible, and as well as being considered Toronto's backyard playground, Georgina is in fact also known as the Ice Fishing Capital of Canada. Amazingly, for a lake so close to a major city, Lake Simcoe has one of the highest fish populations of any freshwater lake on the continent. Closer to shore and for the land lovers, Georgina also has many fine golf courses, lovely park areas, bed and breakfast establishments, and the York Region Forest. In Georgina, you can visit a country craft show, lounge on the beach, or enjoy live theatre and musical productions at either the Stephen Leacock Centre or the Red Barn - Canada's oldest live theatre. If fine dining and luxurious surroundings are more to your liking, Georgina is also home to the Briars, a five-star, world class resort. |
